BLOOD POWDER (purified)

Recent animal food industry scares have made it difficult to source mammalian meat products, but we can now offer you this highly concentrated blood/haemoglobin powder, which has been screened and purified. With high nutritional qualities and an excellent crude protein value it makes a superb bait ingredient, ideal for binding and hardening whilst giving a dark red/brown finish to baits (great for darkening fish meal baits). Carp find this ingredient very attractive, as do Chub, Catfish and Bream. 

Can be included in base mixes at up to 3 oz/lb. 

BLUE CHEESE POWDER

Used by many successful anglers over a number of years, this Danish extra mature blue cheese powder adds a strong savoury taste and aroma to baits, which fish seem to detect. Baits containing this additive at 10% inclusion have achieved markedly increased catch rates when compared to baits containing none.

As well as a distinctive stilton-type aroma this powder adds a complex salt profile that has proven to be an effective fish attractor in even the coldest conditions.

Can be included in base mixes at up to 2 oz/lb.

CASEIN -ACID CASEIN (90 mesh)

This spray-dried, food-grade casein is of superior quality to all others we sampled. Being of 90mesh grade, it will enable finished boilies to maintain a semi-soft, moist centre when incorporated into a base mix. This casein has a protein content in excess of 90% and is ideal for use in H.N.V. baits where a high protein content and quality is sought. 

Can be included in base mixes at up to 6-7oz per lb.

CASEIN -RENNET CASEIN (90 Mesh)

As with our Acid Casein, this Rennet Casein is of the highest quality available. It has a protein content in excess of 95% and is excellent for use within buoyant or semi-buoyant baits. Rennet is air-dried on a fluidised base and is recommended for use in conjunction with Acid Casein as the combination delivers a more complete profile of amino acids to base mixes. Being of 90mesh grade, it will enable finished boilies to maintain a semi-soft, moist centre when incorporated into a base mix.

CASEINATE - CALCIUM CASEINATE

Calcium Caseinate is soluble lactic casein. This high quality, human food grade milk protein has a crude protein content in excess of 96% and is another very popular ingredient for base mix inclusion where a high nutritional value bait is required.

Inclusion levels require careful consideration as Calcium Caseinate is not only soluble but is also very light. Including 4oz per lb may be suitable if there is little other soluble ingredient in the mix and a reasonable amount of dense ingredient. If this is not the case, lower levels should be considered.

CASEINATE - SODIUM CASEINATE

Sodium Caseinate is another milk-derived protein, produced when sodium is used to extract the protein content from milk. As with Calcium Caseinate this ingredient has a protein content of 96% + and binds very well, but is even lighter, making it ideal for use with other ingredients when making buoyant or semi-buoyant baits. Due to its stickiness, the suitable inclusion level is dependant on other ingredients used in the mix. But beware, if included at more than 10% there is a risk that finished baits may float.
 

CHILLI POWDER (very hot!)

Over the past couple of years Chilli Powder has become more and more popular as a bait ingredient. Previously used mainly in particle preparations like our own 'Hot Hemp', it has more recently been used to great effect in boilie mixes where a distinctive 'bite' that fish find very attractive is required.

As a natural colourant, Chilli Powder dyes baits orange/brown but will also add valuable vitamins, minerals and a similar, but more powerful, spicy taste and aroma to that which Robin Red is renowned for.

Can be included in base mixes at up to 10%!
 

CLO (Moore's)

As a bait ingredient, Moore's CLO has excellent functional, nutritional and attraction qualities. Functionally, it adds binding and textural benefits to any boilie mix. Meanwhile, the egg, seed and cereal products included in this ingredient provide valuable proteins, oils and carbohydrates to give an impressive nutrient and attraction profile.

Our own version of CLO is based on the original CLO product but is already ground and ready to use.

CORK DUST

This fine cork powder is ideal for use in conjunction with your own base mix to produce buoyant, critically balanced or reduced density hook baits.

Simply add it to the desired powders at the dry mixing stage before adding eggs and any additives of your choice. Boil the rolled baits for the usual period required for your mix and leave to dry for 24 hours+. As a starting point try using 50:50 base mix: cork dust in a small batch to test the buoyancy of the resulting baits.

CRUNCHY KELP MEAL

Crunchy Kelp Meal can be used in base mixes or method mixes to add valuable vitamins (seaweed/kelp is the only non-animal source of Vitamin B12), minerals, trace elements and attractors as well as a texture that carp love. Recently, many anglers have added crushed egg shells into base mixes to give a crunchy texture to baits ... Crunchy Kelp Meal will do this whilst also improving the bait's nutritional quality.

EGG ALBUMEN

Egg albumen (egg white powder) is essential for baits that require a skinned, firm finish. Although other bait hardeners are available, egg albumen does not compromise the digestibility and nutritional quality of baits, it actually enhances it with a protein content in excess of 78%.

Can be included in base mixes at up to 4oz per lb.

WHOLE EGG POWDER

At an inclusion level of 10%, this can be used as a direct replacement for liquid egg. Although it doesn't supply the same protein content as egg albumen, many bait buffs believe it is more attractive to carp. In terms of functionality, whole egg powder will firm baits throughout whereas egg albumen will tend to create a tougher skin whilst leaving the centre moist.

FINE OYSTER SHELL

If you are looking to add 'crunch' to your baits, here's the answer. This fine ground oyster shell can be added into mixes at around 10% to add texture, a 'flecked' appearance and weight to baits when distance is required with a throwing stick. Fine oystershell is also a valuable source of calcium.

FISH MEAL - HERRING (SCO 70%)

This Scottish, Herring, Blue Whiting and Capelin-based fishmeal is of a higher quality than most 'standard' fishmeals, being of higher meat quality and treated at reduced temperatures thus maintaining protein structure and content. At 70% protein this percentage is approximately 4% higher than Standard Fish Meal, whilst the oil content is around 8%.

FISH MEAL - L.T.94 (Low Temperature)

This high quality meal is the genuine article where low temperature fishmeals are concerned. Produced from chilled raw fish, it is treated at low drying temperatures, maintaining more of the nutritional qualities and amino acids, making it far superior to most standard fishmeals. With an oil content of around 11% and a protein content of 72%+ (of which 94% is digestible), LT94 is the first choice of bait manufacturers where a bulk fishmeal is required.

FISH MEAL - PRE-DIGESTED (Enzyme Treated)

After using different types of pre-digested fishmeal, we believe this product to be the best version available. Produced from whole fish, this fine, floury, aromatic meal is processed under a very strict process that involves spray drying, flash pasteurisation and natural enzymatic hydrolysis. This process results in a highly attractive, nutritionally valuable meal that has a pepsin protein digestibility in excess of 97% and a water solubility of 75%+.
 

FISH MEAL - SARDINE/ANCHOVY

With severe pressure being placed on fish stocks, Sardine/Anchovy Fish Meal has been one of the most difficult products to source in the past 12 months, as species-specific meals have become increasingly difficult to produce. With Sardines and Anchovies being two vital components in dark fish meals, their lack of capture has created a variability in some meals that is unacceptable to bait producers as finished baits have dramatically changed colour from one batch to another. As we are committed to supplying the very best ingredients, we have sourced this 68% protein (3% higher) meal that will remain the same colour throughout the year.

FISH MEAL - STANDARD

This very popular, home produced white fishmeal has a strong smell and is the most commonly used fishmeal in bait production, representing genuine value for money as a bulk bait item that fish find very attractive. With an excellent amino acid profile and 66% crude protein content it has very few equals within the vast range of raw materials and ingredients used in modern day bait production.

KRILL MEAL (Antarctic)

This strong smelling, powerful meal has been used for many years in the production of high quality carp baits. Its salmon pink colour and distinctive crustacean aroma make it almost irresistible to carp. Antarctic Krill Meal also has a coarse physical appearance, which helps to add a rough texture to baits and increase the leakage properties of the finished bait if added at the correct level.

Krill Meal is a very light ingredient and effectively reduces the density of baits, thus enabling them to fly up into the mouth of feeding carp more quickly. But beware of over-inclusion as you may end up with buoyant baits! 
 

LACTALBUMEN

Lactalbumen is a milk protein of the very highest quality, having a protein content in excess of 88%. It consists of two main protein forms - lactalbumin and lacto globulins. Where high nutritional value baits are sought, Lactalbumen is an ideal ingredient that can be included with, or instead of, other milk proteins such as caseins, whey protein etc.

Because of its superior protein quality compared to other milk proteins, Lactalbumen supplies greater amounts of the main essential amino acids  required by carp.

LIMESTONE FLOUR

Limestone flour has been used in the bait industry for some time. As very fine ground limestone it has a harsh hardness that is evident in finished baits that contain it. Primarily used to add density (weight) to baits to enable them to be thrown further in throwing sticks, it is also a valuable source of calcium,  supplementing that sourced naturally by fish as they crunch up the shells of mussels and snails. Baits that contain limestone flour also tend to be firmer and slightly crunchier than those without it.
