Nanny’s XXX reward

There can be little doubt that a result that was reported to us in the last week is one of the most deserving we can remember.

Martin ‘Nanny’ Brent has for some time been one of the most consistent contributors of big fish to the CCM website and gallery. Indeed in the last week we reported his superb opening spring session result where he managed an impressive 5 doubles, 6 twenties and 4 thirties at Wayne Little’s Milton Abbas venue. Over the last few years Nanny has caught far more than his fair share of fish of all sizes from this and other venues in the south of the country but has always seemed to be avoided by fish over the still magical 40lb mark.

In fact over his 30 year+ angling career he has managed to bank a number of very sought after fish from well-known venues and in doing so has notched up an unbelievable 8 different 39lb fish ........ with 3 of these actually being 39lb 15oz (that’s honesty for you!).

We are now delighted to report that this incredible sequence of events has finally come to an end. Last weekend Martin was finally rewarded with this beautiful 40lb 1oz mirror called ‘The Pretty Fish’ from Milton Abbas which, like nearly all of Martin’s other fish, fell to the ever reliable Odyssey XXX boilies.

Martin used 1-2kg per rod coated in his favourite Marine Amino Compound liquid to deservedly break his hoodoo of 40lb avoidance. To get an idea of the number of fish Martin has managed to catch on four sessions within the last 6 months using Odyssey XXX, click here:
