Jamie’s magic touch

Southampton-based specimen angler Jamie Walker recently got his 2011 season off to a phenomenal start in catching on his first trip of the year to a pressured southern syndicate venue during the month of March. Fishing a weekend session he didn’t have to wait long to get off the mark for 2011.

Fishing at around 100yds range after seeing fish show on a 3.5ft deep spot, Jamie presented his hookbait alongside the devastating combination of whole and crumbed Odyssey XXX mixed with Feedstim XP, Minamino, Belachan Stick Mix and maggots to trap this cracking brace of 36lb 2oz and 25lb mirrors. These were amongst the first fish from the venue this year and represented a great result for the start of his Spring campaign.

Boosted after such a great early season result Jamie returned 7 days later to fish a second weekend session. This 48hr stint saw Jamie quickly bag one of the most sought-after fish in the venue using his same Odyssey XXX bait package.

At 3am in the morning he received a telling, purposeful take which resulted in him slipping his net under this stunning 43lb 8oz common which marked a new personal best common for the accomplished big fish angler.

Fishing at around 120 yards range Jamie presented his hookbait and loose feed on a 5ft deep area situated next to a 10ft hole which fish had been visiting.

We would like to congratulate Jamie on the capture of one of the most stunning fish we’ve seen in a long while.

Well done on your great result Jamie; nice to see you’ve still got it!
