Congratulations to Brent and Aidy Whitehead who, during a tutorial with Lee Pollard at the superb Horseshoe Lake, enjoyed an incredible session to remember.

Aidy reported:

'I would really like to thank Lee Pollard and CC Moore for providing the advice and bait for our great 96hr session at The Carp Society's Horseshoe Lake.

We started the session off with Lee on a 24 hour tutorial. He started by showing us rigs, set ups and particularly ways on how to fish on weed. He then showed us a selection of CC Moore baits that we would be using throughout the session, along with the best way to present them. The selection used had already been catching anglers a tremendous amount of fish on Horseshoe, so gave us confidence even though we hadn't ever used them before.

The baits consisted of Odyssey XXX pop ups and freezer baits and the fantastic new Odyssey XXX Weedbeater Mix.

After finding a swim to fish we started by spodding the chosen area. After casting our lines we then discussed the different ways of fishing the lake taking into account the 1-2 feet of blanket weed lying on the bottom. Many other anglers in the past have tried to fish the clear spots as they feel this is the easiest way to present baits cleanly. Lee told us that this would result in a dramatic reduction in takes as the fish treat these areas with such caution.

With the Weedbeater Mix we were able to present baits perfectly sat on top of the weed, surrounded by a pile of loose feed and it wasn't long until I had my first fish at 1.45 am with a beautiful 24lb 10oz fully scaled mirror.

	The next 2 fish came within seconds of each other with my Dad, Brent, landing a 19lb 4oz mirror and me a 19lb 10oz mirror.
	The biggest fish of the session came the following night with me landing this typically stunning 31lb 4oz mirror.

We continued spodding and baiting the swim throughout the session, resulting in a memorable catch of 21 Carp, 8 of them being 20lb+ and 12 being high doubles.

We also had 2 Tench of around 6-7lb, all toped off with a gorgeous 31lb 4oz mirror In all we took fish of over 400lb in total weight, while most others on the lake were struggling to get a take.

One of the best of the bunch was an 18lb 4oz common which Dad landed on the 3rd day of the session, along with another cracking fully scaled fish.

Once again I would like to thank Lee and CC Moore baits for helping us to have such a fantastic session. We are now definitely converted to CC Moore baits and have thankfully managed to get some more of the awesome Weedbeater Mix, which we felt made such a difference to the results.'
