Neil’s Mr Consistent!

Over the past few weeks Neil Mitchell has been really getting amongst the fish at Wayne Little’s picturesque Milton Abbas Fishery. For some time Neil has been one of the most consistent catchers on the 8 acre Dorset venue and has racked up a number of great results using his favourite Odyssey XXX and Feedstim XP combination.

At the end June Neil started to venture back down to Milton Abbas to see how the fish were reacting to the regularly changing weather as he knew that like many places it had not been settled enough for them to have happily spawned. This often makes for some unseasonably voracious feeding behaviour which Neil thought might just give him the opportunity to bank some of the bigger residents of the lake.

On his first 36 hour visit to the lake Neil found a couple of clumps of floating weed near the bank the wooded side which seemed to be being used as cover by several of the prized mirrors that the water contains. After plotting up in the most adjacent swim Neil proceeded to apply a healthy helping of the Green Lipped Mussel-packed Odyssey XXX which the fish are well known to find difficult to resist.

Getting takes straight away Neil managed a quite phenomenal result banking no less than 17 fish in just 36 hours including 7 different twenties (and one to his wife Vicky) along with four of the venue’s 30lb+ fish at 32lb 13oz, 30lb 3oz, 33lb and 30lb 6oz!!

This marks a quite stunning result in anyone’s book but the fact that Milton had been fishing very slowly until this point just shows what a tremendous bait and great angling can achieve in quite a short space of time.

Lightning strikes twice!!!

Obviously boosted by his superb 36 hour session the week before, Neil managed to sneak back down to Milton the following week to trickle a little more Odyssey XXX into the area where he had caught from before. This time fishing even closer to the bank than before, at around 10 yards range in a deep hole, Neil banked several doubles, a 25lb+ fish and the sought after ‘Pretty Fish’ at 40lb 3oz. This marks the fourth different 40 that Neil has caught from the weedy ‘estate’ lake, all caught using the same XXX boilie and Feedstim XP combination.

Since starting this report we have now heard that Neil has done another 18 hour session just this last weekend (July 10th) and has had another 5 twenties to 28lb as shown below. If you want to give yourself a great chance of success and haven’t already tried the lethal combination of Odyssey XXX and Feedstim XP then you really can’t know what you are missing!
