Dinton Gold – Paul Eaton
I caught this one after noticing the fish moving gradually down the lake on the new, fresh southwesterly. I got installed and set my traps in the shallow margins with the expectation that the showing fish would turn up and feed in the shallower water with the abnormal night time temperatures.
At 4am, my right hand margin rod signalled a violent take and after a lengthy battle went on to secure the first fish of the new season. She was an immaculate orginal common and I held her up proud in the morning sunshine.
The fish slipped up on a white CC Moore Pacific Tuna hook bait which was balanced out as a wafter. This was fished over a handful of glugged 18mm Pacific Tuna in Tuna L030.
With a great moon phase coming up and the fish active, it shouldn’t be long before another one slips up.
