With low pressure and stormy weather due, I managed to squeeze in a Saturday night fishing on the historic Yateley Car Park Lake. With nothing being caught Saturday morning and not a lot of fish activity in all the usual areas, I followed some good advice on where some fish were heard on the Friday night.
After a quick lead about, I found a silty patch in between two weed beds, close to a bar that the carp love to patrol. I then deposited six Spombs of crushed and whole Pacific Tuna, Mini Ultramix pellets, hemp and a good dash of Krill Amino Compound. Hook bait wise, I opted for my ever-faithful, trimmed down Pacific Tuna wafter topped of with a trimmed down 12mm Dairy Supreme pop-up. Just 3 hours in and the right hand rod was away with one of the lakes gems known as the ‘Little Lin’ at 29lb.
Hearing a few fish crash in the night close by, I was feeling confident of another bite in the morning and at 8:30 am the same rod was away! This one turned out to be one of the younger fish known as ‘Douces Lin’ at 29.6lb.
